Support Me

Dear Family and Friends,

Let me tell you about one of my favorite people in the world, Emma Rose. Emma is 8 years old. She's clever: she taught herself how to read before she was three, and she's bilingual in English and German, and now teaching herself Finnish! She's funny: she loves to tell jokes and do silly things with her brother Noah and Grandpa Al. She's sweet: she freely gives hugs and wastes no time snuggling up to me when we read books and watch TV.

And, Emma is also autistic. And while she is incredibly loved by me and our entire family, I know that the road ahead for Emma may be lonely and hard to navigate. You see, many "typical" people do not understand autistic individuals, and even fewer of them accept autistic individuals.

That's why I am raising money for the Asperger/Autism Network (AANE) as part of the Activate for AANE campaign. Every year, thousands of autistic individuals and families (mine included) turn to AANE to find vital community, connection, and understanding. AANE offers a sense of belonging, often for the first time in many people's lives.

With your generous support, AANE can continue to fulfill its mission of helping autistic people and their families build meaningful, connected lives. Thank you for considering a donation to AANE. 100% of the funds raised through Activate for AANE will help AANE continue to provide support and social groups, webinars and workshops, and individualized resources for autistic individuals and their families.

With love,

Grandpa Al :>)

PS, would you rather make a donation by check? No problem. Just make out and mail your check to AANE: 85 Main Street, Suite 3, Watertown, MA 02472. Be sure to write that your gift is in support of Alan Friedman's fundraiser in the memo!
