Team BMC has been a longtime participant in the Rodman Ride for Kids, raising critical funds for Boston Medical Center’s pediatric programs and services. And while the event might look a little difference this year due the COVID-19 pandemic, Team BMC’s mission to support BMC’s youngest and most vulnerable patients has not changed. In fact, it’s more crucial than ever.
The needs of BMC's patients often transcend the scope of traditional medicine. Whether it be food insecurity, unstable housing or limited access to essential necessities such as transportation and clothing, address social determinants of health in order to put patients and their families on a path where they are healthy and thriving. Caregivers work tirelessly to ensure Boston’s youngest and most vulnerable patients are on the best path for growth and development, doing so with world-class medical care combined with innovative programs and services.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our pediatric families in new and unprecedented ways. Funds raised by participants will benefit BMC’s COVID-19 relief efforts which will help patients as they charter incredible challenges now and into the foreseeable future. This critical work includes food access and delivery programs to make sure patient families continue to receive the nutrition they need in order to thrive. Additionally, riders will support initiatives like the newly-launched mobile immunization clinic, which helps pediatric patients stay on track with vaccinations and well visits even when they cannot come to the hospital. While Team BMC’s participation in the Rodman Ride for Kids has always made a difference in the lives of BMC’s littlest patients, the impact of this year’s event will be especially profound as it aims to help families whose lives have been upended by COVID-19.
Please support Team BMC as they walk, run, bike and everything in between for this year’s Rodman Ride for Kids. Your donation to Team BMC will make a significant and lasting difference in the lives of BMC's youngest, most vulnerable patients.
