Hello friends, family, and colleagues!

Thank you for your interest in supporting me in the 2022 Rodman Ride for Kids! I feel incredibly lucky to have this cool opportunity to race 50 miles and raise money for the youth I work with through the Boston-based youth nonprofit, Youth Enrichment Services (YES). Please read below for more info and consider donating to help me reach my fundraising goal of $1,500! (100% of the proceeds go towards YES Youth programs!)

Who is Team YES?

Youth Enrichment Services (aka YES) is a private, nonprofit organization which provides affordable and impactful sports-based youth development and leadership programming for Boston children and teens. A group of 10 staff and volunteers have committed racing in the Rodman Ride this year in order to raising money to support our youth programming.

About My Journey with YES

I have been an adult volunteer with YES since 2018 when I began my career as a youth snowboard instructor. Inspired by my older brother who taught me how to board as a kid, I wanted to share this incredible sport with youth who maybe didn't have the same privilege or access I did growing up at the foot of the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

This past ski season, I instructed the same group of youth over the course of 4 weeks and was able to fill in for several other trips which needed an extra instructor last-minute. It was awesome to see the remarkable progress my students made in that short time, but even more remarkable was the impact that this group had on me as an instructor. At the end of the 2021/2022 season, I was awarded a Volunteer of the Year Award for my track record of good coaching and helping out in a pinch.

When this Spring rolled around, I decided to get involved in the YES Learn to Ride program. Over the course of several weeks, we taught dozens of kids how to ride a bike (most of whom had never ridden before). The look of shock in their faces as we removed their training wheels was only topped by the pride they exuded once they were soon riding on their own. Many only took a couple of hours before the were flying solo, but almost all got the hang of it by the second or third week. Recalling the sense of freedom my bike granted me at their age made it all worth it.

Hopefully I can make those same kids and the rest of Team YES proud in my first ever bike race - the Rodman Ride for Kids!

What is the Rodman Ride?

Since 1991, the Rodman Ride for Kids has raised over $148 million for youth-focused non-profits and the kids they serve. With your support, we will impact the lives of thousands more young people this year. I am riding with Team YES to support the Rodman Ride for Kids because I believe every young person deserves access to the programs, resources, and opportunities they need to dream, grow, and succeed.
