I'm thrilled to share that I will be participating in the Rodman Ride for Kids to support Raising a Reader MA for the third year in a row this fall. Now, more than ever, I believe every child in our community should have the opportunity to live the way we would want our own kids to live. Through my work with RAR-MA and volunteering work with the organization, Read to a Child, this annual event is one of our largest fundraising events we as the Emerging Leaders Board support.
Since 1991—the year I was born—the Rodman Ride for Kids has raised over $146 million to support at-risk youth, and RAR-MA is part of the growing ecosystem of nonprofits that participate in this awesome event. With your support, we will impact the lives of thousands more young people this year.
WHY RAISING A READER?
I’ve been involved with the Raising a Reader since 2017 and have a shared passion for the organization’s mission. As a member and co-chair of the Emerging Leader’s Board, we have set out to support RAR-MA through rallying our friends and families to raise awareness and funds to support our community’s youth through different charities and promoting literacy across all neighborhoods and networks.
RAR-MA's their mission is to close the literacy opportunity gap among children ages birth to age six in high-need communities by helping families develop and practice shared home reading habits. To do this, their vision is to make interactive reading a joyful and rewarding routine for all families. We equip parents to be their child’s first teacher, empowered to be active participants in their child’s education, impacting success in school and beyond.
HOW I WILL RIDE
I'm excited to share that I'll be participating in-person this year, biking the 25 miles around Foxboro. With your help, each peddle stroke will be with Raising A Reader MA's core mission in mind, and I look forward to continuing to promote the incredible work RAR-MA does for the local community through my ride.
