For the third year running (well... 'cycling'), I'm participating in the Rodman Ride for Kids to support The Asperger/Autism Network (AANE) -- a nonprofit with a mission that means a great deal to me personally.   The Mission: AANE helps people with Asperger’s and similar autism spectrum and neurodiverse profiles build meaningful, connected lives.  The organization provides individuals, families, and professionals with information, education, community, support, and advocacy — all in an inclusive atmosphere of validation and respect.

My involvement with AANE over the last several years has had an enormous positive impact on our family.  I don't know where we'd be if we hadn't found the tremendous support, educational resources and personal connections that AANE offers.  And as  AANE board member for the last 3+ years, I've had a chance to see the organization up close.  It runs on a very streamlined budget and is staffed with a remarkable team committed to supporting a growing and underserved population.

While AANE started as a regional organization 25 years ago, it is now has global reach and supports thousands of families and individuals around the world.  The current pandemic has been a big challenge for the Asperger's/neurodiverse community and has resulted in a huge need for supportive services.  The number of inquiries has nearly doubled over the last six months and AANE has responded by dramatically expanding its' online services and offering support groups for no fee.  If interested in learning more, take a look at the AANE website:

This weekend and next, I am riding as many miles as my legs allow (!), to raise funds for AANE. Your donation of any amount will help me reach my fundraising goal. 100% of the funds I raise will directly support AANE’s programs and services.  To donate, just click the SUPPORT ME button at the top of this blurb.  Donations appreciated by Monday, October 6.

Please know how much your support means to me and the thousands of individuals and families AANE serves each year.  Thank you!

P.S. If you prefer to make a donation by check, that is fine! Make your check out to AANE and mail it to: AANE - 51 Water Street, Suite 206 - Watertown, MA 02472. Be sure to write my name and "Rodman Ride" in the memo!
