About Sportsmen's

For over 60 years, Sportsmen's has leveraged tennis to open doors of opportunity for youth in some of Boston's most under-resourced communities. As one of the 20 largest organizations in the USTA's National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network, we provide top-tier tennis instruction, academic support, and life skills programming for more than 3,000 youth annually. Our health and wellness programs target the most pressing chronic health issues facing families in Boston's inner-city communities.

Our four mission-driven programs to ride for:

Youth Tennis - We seek to place local, low-income and/or minority youth on a clear developmental pathway to high performance, college/post secondary level tennis;

The Learning Center (TLC) - our youth enrichment programs provide high-quality out-of-school time academic tutoring for less-advantaged K-3 students to build fundamental skills in reading, science and math. We use evidence-based practices to develop character, self-confidence and self-management, promoting respect for self and others, with a focus on social and emotional wellness;

Health and Wellness-we offer free, life-changing health and wellness programs, including educational forums and use of our fitness center for neighborhood adults through the Brigham and Women's Center for Community Wellness (CCW);

Volley Against Violence (VAV) – A partnership with the Boston Police department brings youth from all over Boston to Sportsmen’s on Friday evenings for free tennis and mentoring with Sportsmen’s coaches and Boston Police officers. This program also fosters critical dialogue and understanding.

Mission

Sportsmen’s mission is to build leaders on the court, in the classroom and in the greater community by providing academic, wellness and social development programs alongside recreational and competitive tennis instruction for youth and adults. Sportsmen’s is committed to improving life opportunities for youth in Boston’s Blue Hill Corridor while welcoming a diverse community from the Greater Boston area.

INCENTIVE: RIDERS WHO REGISTER BY JUNE 30TH AND COMMIT TO RAISING $2,000 BY NOVEMBER 1, 2023 WILL RECEIVE A STEC RIDER JERSEY TO RIDE ON RIDE DAY
