The 33rd Annual Rodman Ride for Kids

#TEAM BEDF

Impacting Kids One Mile At A Time.

The Boston Education Fund (BEDF) invites you to join us in this year's Rodman Ride for Kids, the 33rd Annual event. Together, we will significantly impact and play a crucial role in our first Rodman Ride for Kids! Whether you participate as a rider, volunteer, or help spread the word, your involvement is highly valued. Let's work together to achieve our fundraising goal and support the advancement of educational equity in Boston Public Schools. Whether you're a returning rider or a first-time participant, BEDF extends its gratitude to all. Get ready to join our team and make a lasting difference!

ABOUT BEDF:

The Boston Education Fund (BEDF) is a 501(c)(3) K-12 education fund that has served as the fiscal sponsor for Boston Public Schools (BPS) since 1984. BEDF’s mission is expanding to include a strategic fundraising partnership to help advance educational equity and build philanthropic initiatives impacting the entire BPS district. Over the past two decades, BEDF has administered over $200M (roughly $123M since 2010) in external funding to support and advance educational equity, initiatives, and programs at BPS.

OUR WORK:

Working in close partnership with BPS schools and departments, BEDF supports school leaders and administrators to effectively solicit and administer grants and donations to increase the quality and quantity of educational opportunities afforded to our students. BEDF’s commitment to serving as a connector and resource facilitator for all interested parties in Boston’s public education ecosystem is the driving force behind its mission. As such, BEDF is expanding its scope from a fiscal sponsor and financial conduit for BPS to a strategic fundraising partner, aiming to serve as the main point of contact for all philanthropic endeavors in partnership with Boston Public Schools.

THE VALUE OF OUR SERVICES:

  • We create connecting spaces for the entire BPS educational ecosystem to come together to network and collaborate
  • We facilitate the administration and management of grants and their corresponding program operations
  • We identify and disseminate relevant funding opportunities to schools and help organize fundraisers
  • We share fundraising templates and toolkits and offer professional development opportunities

At Rodman for Kids, we believe every young person deserves access to the programs, resources, and opportunities they need to dream, grow, and succeed.  We are dedicated to raising resources, building capacity, and creating opportunities for youth-focused organizations, their leaders, and the kids they serve. Rodman for Kids provides comprehensive support, including fundraising and organizational resources, to youth-focused charities of all sizes—from passion projects in the incubation stage to established community youth organizations to hospital pediatric units. In addition to financial support, Rodman for Kids provides space and programs for collaboration, professional development, and best practices for our Charity Partners. One donation can impact every organization, and the thousands of kids collectively served.

Since its inception in 1991, the Rodman Ride for Kids has raised over $150 million for a diverse group of youth-focused organizations - our Charity Partners. It serves as a convening & fundraising platform for our Charity Partners, providing them with an expense-free event where they keep 100% of the funds they raise.
